MIAMI (WKIS) – For three decades people have been satisfying their appetite for top-notch country music at the KISS 99.9 Chili Cook-Off and this year is no exception, but did you know the event helps support our troops overseas?
Forgotten Soldiers Outreach is once again the benefactor of the Chili Cook-Off.
FSO is a non-profit organization that ships care packages filled with donated items and letters of encouragement to the United States military men and women actively serving overseas. FSO has been sending these monthly “We Care” packages to deployed troops since 2003.
Now in their 13th year, FSO has benefited close to 400,000 of our United States Armed Forces deployed overseas, all over the world and in all branches of the military.
This is the 6th year that Forgotten Soldiers Outreach has been the recipient charity of all the beer and alcohol sales at the Chili Cook-Off and they are honored to continue to be a part of it. According to FSO, “Country music listeners seem to be the most patriotic people in our country and we always receive a wonderful response at this event!”
